§ 4-3-167. Audit and financial reporting.

The board of commissioners shall have the books and records of the district audited immediately after the end of the fiscal year by the state auditor or by a certified public accountant licensed to do business in the state. The financial statement prepared by the auditor shall be published once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a local newspaper of general circulation in Sarasota and Charlotte County [sic]. The board of commissioners shall prepare and publish in a like manner an annual budget to be prepared at the time the tax roll is finalized.
