§ 4-3-167. Audit and financial reporting.

  • The board of commissioners shall have the books and records of the district audited immediately after the end of the fiscal year by the state auditor or by a certified public accountant licensed to do business in the state. The financial statement prepared by the auditor shall be published once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a local newspaper of general circulation in Sarasota and Charlotte County [sic]. The board of commissioners shall prepare and publish in a like manner an annual budget to be prepared at the time the tax roll is finalized.
