§ 4-3-20. Assessment rates established.

(a)

The rate of assessments for classes of property served by the Charlotte County Fire Rescue Department is established as follows:

(1)

Residential properties:

a.

Residential homes, apartments, condominiums, mobile homes, barns, etc. ..... $40.00

b.

Residential vacant lots in a developed area (Accessible by public road) ..... 15.00

A lot zoned Residential which is not buildable because of size shall be assessed as ½ of a lot.

c.

Residential vacant lots in an undeveloped area (inaccessible by public road), per lot ..... 0.50

Commercial, industrial and institutional properties:

a.

Commercial, industrial and institutional buildings with an area of up to 1,300 sq. ft. ..... $40.00

Each additional sq. ft., per sq. ft. ..... 0.03

b.

Commercial, industrial and institutional vacant properties, per lot or, where applicable, per acre ..... 15.00

Mobile home and recreational vehicle parks:

a.

Mobile homes ..... $40.00

b.

Vacant mobile home lots ..... 15.00

c.

Recreational vehicle sites (with or without RV on site) ..... 25.00

Note: RV parks need to submit a layout of authorized locations for recreational vehicles sites.

d.

Recreational buildings, storage buildings, etc. with an area of up to 1,300 sq. ft. ..... 40.00

Each additional sq. ft. per sq. ft. ..... 0.03

Acreage:

a.

Acreage in a developed area (Accessible by public road), per acre ..... $15.00

b.

Acreage in an undeveloped area (inaccessible by public road), per acre not to exceed $750.00 per parcel ..... 0.50

Parcel is defined as contiguous land under common ownership.

(b)

This section shall take effect October 1, 1986.
