§ 2-5-131. Prohibited acts.

  • The making, creation or maintenance of excessive, unnecessary or unusually loud noises is prohibited and a violation of this article. The following acts are declared to be excessive, unnecessary or unusually loud noises in violation of this article, but such acts shall not be deemed to be exclusive:

    (1)

    The sounding of any horn or signaling device for any unnecessary or unreasonable period of time, and the unreasonable use of any horn or other signaling device.

    (2)

    The using, operating or permitting to be used or operated any radio, television, tape or record player, amplifier, musical instrument or other machine or device used for the production, reproduction or emission of sound in such a manner as to disturb the peace, quiet and comfort of the neighboring inhabitants or with greater intensity than is necessary for convenient hearing for the person or persons who are in the room, vehicle or chamber in which such sound emitters are operated and who are voluntary listeners thereto.

    (3)

    Yelling, shouting or singing in such manner as to disturb the peace, quiet and comfort of neighboring inhabitants.
