§ 2-1-38. Purpose of OEM.

The OEM shall exist and be responsible for providing effective and orderly emergency management, and governmental control and coordination of emergency operations before, during and after an emergency. The OEM also shall coordinate state and federal post-emergency recovery assistance to municipalities.

In addition to performing emergency management functions within the territorial limits of the county, the OEM shall conduct such emergency activities as required by law and in accordance with state and county emergency management plans and mutual aid agreements.
