§ 1-6-36. Board of trustees.

  • (a)

    There is hereby created a board of trustees, to be known as the "board of trustees, Charlotte County Law Library," hereinafter [in this article] called the "board". The board shall consist of three (3) members, each of whom shall be an attorney at law actively engaged in the practice of law in Charlotte County. The members of said board shall be appointed by the senior circuit judge of the twelfth judicial circuit of Florida from nominations submitted to said senior circuit judge by the Charlotte County Bar Association, hereinafter [in this article] called the "association". Each member of the board shall serve at the pleasure of the association.

    (b)

    The board shall have and is granted the power and authority to establish, operate and maintain a law library, to be known as the "Charlotte County Law Library," and to prescribe and enforce regulations for the use, maintenance and operation of said law library. The board shall have and is granted authority to employ personnel and to purchase fixtures, furnishings, law books, periodicals and all other facilities which may be deemed necessary properly and efficiently to establish and operate said law library, subject always to the approval of the senior circuit judge of the twelfth judicial circuit of Florida.

    (c)

    The board shall have and is granted such additional power and authority as shall be necessary to promote the efficient maintenance and operation of said law library.
