§ 1-6-11. Surcharge in criminal and noncriminal traffic cases.

  • (a)

    Pursuant to F.S. section 318.18(13)(a)1, every person who pays a fine or civil penalty for any noncriminal traffic infraction pursuant to F.S. Chapter 318, or for any criminal violations listed in F.S. section 318.17, shall be assessed a surcharge of thirty dollars ($30.00).

    (b)

    The court shall order payment of this surcharge in all matters subject to this section and the clerk of court shall add this surcharge to all payments of fines or civil penalties for any noncriminal traffic infraction under F.S. Chapter 318 or criminal traffic infraction listed in F.S. section 318.17.

    (c)

    The funds collected pursuant to this section shall be used to fund state court facilities, in accordance with the provisions of F.S. section 318.18(13)(a)1 and the direction of the board of county commissioners.
