§ 1-2-9. Seal of county.

  • (a)

    The Charlotte County Seal consists of a circular design showing most of the State of Florida, except for the westernmost portion of the panhandle, within which the outline of Charlotte County appears, from which a line extends into the Gulf of Mexico, on which a tarpon is hooked; around the circular border in a counterclockwise direction, appear the words in bold, capital letters as follows:

    CHARLOTTE—COUNTY—1921—FLORIDA

    with water flowers, an airplane and a boat; as clearly depicted on the Description of Graphics and Color Definition, which are attached to Ordinance No. 96-02 and by reference made a part thereof.

    (b)

    The seal as described above is hereby designated and adopted as the Official Seal of Charlotte County, Florida, a political subdivision of the State of Florida.

    (c)

    The manufacture, use, display, or other employment of any facsimile or reproduction of the Charlotte County Seal as described in the paragraph, next above, without the express, prior, written approval of the board of county commissioners of Charlotte County, Florida, is hereby declared to be unlawful and punishable as a second degree misdemeanor as provided in section 165.043, Florida Statutes.
